PVKC has approval from The AKC to schedule its annual Plan B Sanctioned Match which is typically held in the fall.
An AKC sanctioned match is an informal event at which neither Championship points nor credit toward Agility, Rally, Obedience, or Tracking titles are awarded. This is an event where dog clubs, judges, stewards and exhibitors with their dogs gain experience needed to compete in AKC licensed events.
All the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and the Agility, Tracking and Obedience/Rally Regulations apply to a sanctioned match.
Each year PVKC offers exhibitors the opportunity to work their dogs through Obedience and Rally. Highest scoring dogs win ribbons and toy prizes. In conformation showing, placement ribbons are handed out and subsequently, rosettes in the group placements. PVKC also encourages juniors to work with their dogs in the Junior Showmanship category.
Other entries include Amateur Adult Handling (professional handlers and major pointed dogs are excluded) and Junior Handler (up to age 18; champion dogs or major pointed dogs are allowed).
